Hi
My name is Gonçalo Esteves. I'm the Founder of Self-Defense 4 All - Home of Krav Maga.
I've been training and teaching martial arts, combat sports and Self-Defense for over 35 years across several countries and cultures ( Portugal, Norway, England and in the United States of America).
In that time I've trained extensively Karate, some Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and deep-dived into Krav Maga from the FEKM-RD with Masters across disciplines and around the world including Antonio Oliva, Paulo Pereira, and Steve Schmidt.
For nearly 15 years I've competed at an elite level in Portugal's National Karate team in several European and World Championships.
In 2006 I've started learning Krav Maga, obtaining my Black Belt in 2014 in the rigorous curriculum of the FEKM-RD under the Portuguese Federation of Krav Maga.
I'm also an Industrial & Engineering and Management Degree holder with Biomechanics and Movement Sciences studies conducted in Academia.
Since 2011 I've been teaching Krav Maga and exploring its systematic and logical design of Self-Defense.
Probably what I like most is the definition that Krav Maga is the ability to defend yourself and others in 360 degrees and against threats or attacks armed or unarmed from all angles, and this raises the bar.
Self-Defense is a fundamental skill for Men and Women regardless of age, and physical or fitness levels.
I've taught hundreds of civilians and seen their transformation by becoming more aware, confident, fit and able to defend themselves and others when strictly needing to act.
Problem is that it remains too hard to explain and remains inside secrecy and almost cult like living, so I’ve decided to break the skills and techniques down with a plain language and an engineer view so that you can learn them and teach to the ones you care.
A time and process tested step by step approach, systematic, focused with the extreme efficiency and principles of Krav Maga.
I've condensed 35 years’ experience and created this course that covers 5 essential Self-Defense techniques all people should know and teach to the ones you care.
It includes defenses and counter attacks for:
- One Hand Choke to the Throat from the front
- Two Hands Choke
- Shirt Grab
- Bear Hug
- Circular Punch or Haymaker
